NOTE: This is issue #092 of my newsletter, which went live on Monday, March 13. If you find this information useful and interesting and you want to receive future issues as they are published, ahead of everyone else, I invite you to join the subscriber list at frontendnexus.com.
We start this issue by finding out what happened on the web platform in February. Next, we take a look at the updates landing in Chrome 111 and Safari Technology Preview 165.
There are plenty of updates on the release radar: Astro 2.1, Deno 1.31, jQuery 3.6.4 (a real blast from the past), TypeScript 5.0 RC, and more.
The resources section is also well-represented today. We got icons, image utilities, code generators, and the list goes on.
π» Browser news
Rachel Andrew's monthly update came just a bit late to be included in the previous issue, so I'm mentioning it today. Chrome 110, Edge 110, and Firefox 110 are the stable releases of the month. On web platform updates, we got full support for container queries, and more.
Chrome
Chrome 111 rolled out on March 1st. This release brings us the View Transitions API, CSS Color Level 4, new color devtools, and more.
WebKit
Safari Technology Preview 165 is now available for macOS and iOS users. This update brings a long list of optimizations, fixes, and fine adjustments.
